Macアプリ「PopClip」はMac App Store版のサポートを終了し、スタンドアロン版のみのサポートとなりました

Mac App Store版のPopClipは2023/9以降アップデートされていない

PopClipとはWebページやエディッタで表示されたキーワード等をマウスドラッグ等で選択したときに、iphoneのようにアクションを選択できるソフトです。

手持ちのPopClipのバージョンはMac App Store版で2023年9月バージョンです。

PopClipの公式HPを確認したところ、Mac App Store版は今後アップグレードされないとアナウンスあり

Mac App Store版からStandalone版への移行は簡単

PopClipの以下の記事に記載された手順で簡単に移行可能

スタンドアロン版への移行

手順を意訳すると、以下のとおりとなります。

1 Quit your existing PopClip, if it is running.

PopClipを終了する

2 Download PopClip from the download page, and unzip it.

PopClipのHPからスタンドアロン版をダウンロードし、Zipファイルを展開する

3 Put it in the /Applications folder, replacing the MAS edition. (MacOS will ask for your password to confirm deletion of the MAS edition.)

アプリケーションフォルダに2で展開したファイルを置き、既存のMac App Store版を置き換える（Mac OSはMac App Store版を消去することにパスワードによる承認を求めるはず。）。

なお、2で展開したファイルとは、以下のPopClip.appのことです。

4 Run the new PopClip app. It will detect your Mac App Store purchase and unlock itself.

新しいPopClipを起動します。Mac App Store版のライセンスを見つけ、スタンドアロン版のライセンス制限を解除してくれます。

移行結果

最新のスタンドアロンバージョンで、制限が解除された状態となりました。
